Brilliant scraptastic ideas where to find them (a la PageMaps blog via Pintrest detour) and inspiration found with Scrapbook Soup! TV show that I found quite accidentally today (OMG OMG OMG)
So ... I had today off and had to play around with things, especially after watching that show and then subsequently the website (where I got to watch an episode with *gasp* Ali E *faint*thud*). I got to produce the following two layouts:
The first was inspired by the Scrapook Soup! TV show (episode SS-301). I tried to do a resist like the video...however, I realized that I have no idea where my oil pastels are. Therefore, I decided that I didn't have any. SOOOOO...I thought that I might try some regular crayons? Nah. Not so good. I used watercolors, then I used watercolor crayons for the circle after the watercolors were mostly dried on the page. The title, written and then hand-cut because .... April has no awesome Brother/Silhouette/Cricut scan/cut machines. *ahem* I digress...
The second was inspired by Page Maps sketch which I randomly found on Pintrest. (Link above). Can't EVER go wrong with a PageMaps sketch. siiiiigh.
Now, with me returning to a regular work-day tomorrow *sigh* I'll be lucky to update the A3C journal. Soldiering on!!

everyone say it together....AWWWWWWWWWWW

Aren't we absolutely adorable??? I think so *swoon*
Me and S-Man on Christmas Day 2010. This was done for a "scrap that tune" challenge over at TheMoments ---- check it out! The song was "Smile" by UncleKracker - suuuuper cute song :)
For this layout I used SPACKLING COMPOUND again ...ooooo love the texture and funkiness of it. Used Glimmer Mist, Mister Huey's Mist and the flower embelishments were made from watercolor paper, hand-drawn and watercolor painted with some glitter added for zesty bling ;) This is one of my fave layouts - the colors - the funkiness - love love love (that too)
Have you done anything cool and unusual lately? ? :)
Do tell!

Bring on the flowers...and the watercolors
Why did I do this? I can't say, other than because I wanted to :) I used dry brush with acrylics for the background and watercolors for all other color - Reminisce gel pens for the outline. The book paper is from the same book I used for my first flower wreath (which is at S-man's right now with the two birdies).

A3C 22 & 23 and book flower wreath project!
Okay -- big post, only because I neglected to actually POST the one from friday and yesterday ON TIME. *sigh* Just now noticing of course that it's also past midnight and voila now I've missed posting 2 days. I am proud to proclaim though, that while I didn't post it on time, it was actually finished on time (personal goal, I know that whomever happens to be reading this is thinking, "uh, so what April, what is the big deal" -- but it seems to be one for me).
More watercolors - friday with the pencils and saturday with the crayons...love watercolors..love love love.
Remember the book flowers that I got the NEED to do from reading Lizzy's blogpost?? WELLLLLLL....I did them up good - with help from my sweetie's kids (as mine were with their father, or I'd have had an assembly line 4kids long muhahahahahahaha crafting minions!!) Mine have different sizes, and I added two birds to it ... one of the kids said "awwwwww...just like you and my dad" and that was so sweet to me - I couldn't disagree ;)

TOTALLY loving the project idea, thanks again Lizzy - have an idea for the next one which will involve glimmer mist (because that stuff is aaaawesome). and another idea for one involving styrofoam cone/tree shapes?? would that not be amazing??
Another project for another day...
