Another April/Lynn Challenge for each other? Say it isn't so...

So, a couple of weeks ago amidst my A3C madness  (believe it or not), Lynn and I were challenging each other a bit, trying to antagonize the mojo to create greatness.  OR to amuse each other and try to play around with papers.  Found an idea that we scraplifted from (yet another) ScrapbookSoupTV episode about sketches (and twists on sketches) with Kelly Purkey.  Each of our layouts looked different, yet somewhat similar. Loved that episode, but also loved what I ended up with!

One really cool thing that I did though -- the round "hole saver" stickers? they were white until I attacked them with multiple Sharpies.   *sigh* love how they turned out too.  and her face just makes me giggle.

A3C Journal 2014....before and after

So, this year my April's April Artistic Challenge Journal (2014) was different than the previous.
I started with this:  a mash up of a few different chipboard mini albums randomly spaced...

Add some acrylic paint, massive amounts of mist, date stamps and washi tapes (for continuity, if you can believe it)...

Front Cover!
 "Overview"  oh - come on, that was funny...
 The last page, aka "mini exit interview"
 Back cover -- yes, more (a lot) mist and using the "a" chipboard as a stencil

I was so excited about this year's A3C.  The materials I started with were nearly literally like a blank canvas.   I got to use a lot of different supplies that I haven't had out to play with in a long time, that in itself is extremely exciting.

But the outcome of this is amazing from my perspective.   Thanks so much for being a part of this year's A3C journey with me!    Can't wait for next year!!!

Days 19-30 this is a looooooooong one, picture heavy ;)

Keep it rolling!!!

DAY 19::::::::::::::::::: a VB Lazy Day :)
 DAY 20::::::::::::::::::: Happy Easter!
 DAY 21:::::::::::::::::Friggin stalker bird knocking on the bathroom window.  every. single. day.
DAY 22::::::::::::::  I just don't know.
 Day 23::::::::::::::::::  Car stick figures - are they prostitutes? zombies? you be the judge.    and another truck, with a skeleton attached to the front.  Why?  I have no idea.  But to see  both of these things in the same day?  Very entertaining.
 Day 24:::::::::::: Googly eyes only.  Just because I could ;)
Day 25:::::::::::::::::  No, that is not an incorrect number.  300+.  Yes, it was just as ridiculous as you can imagine that it was.   Incidentally, I LOVE the chalk marker -- friggin awesome.
 Day 26::::::::::::::::  By the way, the total for this day (cell phone only) was 176.  No, I'm not exaggerating.
 DAY 27:::::::::::::::::::::::  I was actually LOVING the white pen on the black painted chipboard pages.  LOVE THEM...
 DAY 28::::::::::::::::::::::  um....201 total this day.  But I was busy on this aspect.  Sure was.  So there.
 Day 29::::::::::::::::  WOOHOO the spring band concert for the younger two chickens!
 and a pocket for the program
 DAY 30:::::::::::::::  Boomer...so sleepy and old...and snore-y  LOL

This has been an AWESOME ride this year ----- UP NEXT...I'll post the covers (back/front) because those are always my favorites and usually done after everything else is complete.

A3C the intro and Days 1-3

Ooooookay!!!   I'm having SO SO SO much fun with this for 2014!!   I must say, the acrylic paint on chipboard?? AWESOME IDEA!!  *bowing humbly and graciously*

Ahem*

Let's get to it!

I have decided that I was brilliant, yet again, with the "let's not do the covers yet" plan.   I've cooked up a zillion (or maybe less) ideas already and, therefore, am glad that I didn't make anything permanent yet.

INTRO PAGE::::

 DAY 1:::::: (kinda "boring", but I literally did ... not much that day)

DAY 2:::::: (a list because work was involved ha)

 DAY 3:::::  with an added "pocket" page made with transparency (Hambly Prints of old)::

I really and sincerely hope it looks like I'm having a blast with this - - because I reallllly am :)   I need to kick life up a notch though because I  am realizing that I tend to lead a mundane existence if I allow it. ;)

Until next update ~ Muah

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot...

It's a scorcher for sure. I, for one, am not going out in the burning-sun-which-hates-me-a-lot. Sooooo....what's an April to do? The best-ever-Steve left a little bit ago and the chickens of mine return this evening. What am I to do? I'll share some layouts from this week...and then I think I'll scrap some more ;)

TheMoments .... loads of challenges and game nights to inspire and light the scrappin fire under your booty to get your creativity flowin ;)
"perspective" I uploaded without the journaling (because ... I am duh sometimes LOL) that was for a sketch chllenge :)

"My mom says I'm awesome. Therefore it's true"....LOVE THAT PAPER -- this was done for another challenge. . a lift of the talented Diana ;)

Yet another lift challenge - to lift our fearless leader Pat ;) THis little 8x8 has tons of stuff...glitter stamped stars (on the lower left, which did NOT scan all that well), misting, white mist made with paint/water in a MiniMister -awesome). The banner is also stamped (used for the half-circle) and I used flocking powder for some further texture :)

And so goes another week!! More posts of more layouts, hopefully I'll be able to crank out something creative today as well :)

Is it Monday....again??

Okay - over at TheMoments the 1st and 15th of the month produces some pretty cool challenges!! I did this one for Lynn's heritage challenge...SO MUCH FUN to finally scrap an old school pic of myself ;) Kindergarten AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW-ness!
THIS one I did because ....I've become addicted to touching watercolors...the actual watercolors as well as the watercolor paper...yummmmmmyness!! cut out my tree and watercolored everything :) And it's Brendan the knight ;)

I've become SO ADDICTED...that I've been doodling on my watercolor paper VisualJournal...so glad I got that for myself to carry around. I can do the doodles while out and splaaash paint around later - or in this case, paint funky colors on the background and then add the doodles afterward..

Before color...

and After~

And the next day ~ playing around with patterns/shapes/animal prints ;)

I am having soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun with this stuff...makes me happy :)

The Moments....Journaling Challenge #2!

For the month of merry merry month of May :)

Come play along @ The Moments
New challenges are up!! As a DT member, I present a new journaling challenge the first of every month...have been having a BLAST!
This challenge was to "capture a conversation" which is actually one (of my many) faves to do on my pages, especially with the kids. They say some of the most interesting things at times, bringing forth the most interesting epiphanies! I will post some "old" layouts of mine where I've done this as well, because, well BECAUSE I LIKE TO SHARE >:)

SECONDLY - here is a quick pic of the "inside" front and back covers of chipboard for the A3C journal that I'm trying to finish up --- gotta do the actual front and back covers! LOL@me again.

Maybe I'll get those done before May ends? hahahahahaha that's what I get for doing the thing friggin' backward I suppose! ;)

A3C #11

I am "kind of" veering away from my original in-my-head plan for the journal --- but I am actually VERY glad that I am because I'm getting to try some new techniques with different mediums and I'm soooooo liking it :)

So. Today I had to work -- and then work on some challenges for a few different things....got two done that I had wanted to. Now to wait to post them on the appropriate days. I'm thinking that I'm 2 weeks ahead of myself with my journaling challenge at The Moments as well...as it is not due until the 1st. woohoo me. Staying ahead of SOMEthing will feel good in comparison to the running behind things usually does. Bah.

Given that I generally have 349823479 things running through my head at the same time - in no apparent order - I have to strive very hard to get things done in the order that they are needed sometimes. Like anything else, I suppose, some days are more difficult than others. At least today I haven't been overwhelmed with artistic projects and driven myself to the point of wanting to take a nap to try and turn off the brain (does it turn off then? I don't think it does. I think I can overwhelm myself while sleeping too. True story --- who else could wake themselves up with a panic attack?)

Annnnyway...today's April's Artistic April Challenge. Now to see if I can do a few more things before bedtime :) Have to do my own ManicMonday with the absence of my Lynn *sigh*
